Read Guest CommentsThank you for a delightful stay in a magical cottage! We had quite the epicurian adventure visiting various wineries, bakeries, and restaurants, and even finding Our Lady of the Angels Monastery for their Gouda cheese! What a trip into the unknown that was! A special thank you too for the map drawing and the coffee cake...yummy! —CB 05/12
This was a great place to stay! The host made us feel very welcome and spent some time telling us how to get to the places we wanted to visit, and offering some advice on places we had not known about. The cottage is delightful, comfortable, and we very quickly felt at home. It was very clean, nice king bed, nice bathroom. We would definitely stay there again if in the area. —MB&CB 05/12
What a perfect spot for a last minute anniversary getaway weekend. We were so lucky to happen upon a rare available weekend and now we know why this cottage is always booked. It feels like staying at a second home with its quality structure and personal touches. Cedar Hill Cottage is truly the nicest place and setting in which we have ever stayed! We loved the coffee cake, of course, and zinnias are among my favorites. Everything was perfect, including the hosts. We felt we were in our private getaway, but knew they were nearby if needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay! —LW 08/12
Once again the hosts have extended fine hospitality by welcoming us to stay at their cottage. We love the cottage and surroundings so much; we truly feel like this is a home away from home. Thank you for hosting us a third time. We look forward to returning!

For sixteen years my sister and I have been going away together for a few days, usually to a B&B, and always to a different one. Last year we came to this wonderful cottage and had such a relaxing time that we decided to make our first repeat and come back here. We have again thouroughly enjoyed our time here and look forward to returning! —BC 09/12
This cottage provides a beautiful, restful, and peaceful getaway. Everything was so lovely and perfect in every way, from the parfait and crumbcake to the lovely design and charm of the cottage. We enjoyed the Bill Bryson book (almost finished) and the walks in the woods. We watched no TV and heard no news; we only enjoyed the solitude this place offers. We look forward to coming again and having a wonderful and peaceful respite from the real world. —TM 10/12
What a sweet sanctuary! Everything the previous guests had mentioned is true. The cottage, the scenery and all the special touches!! Of course it goes without saying that our host and hostess are genuinly lovely people. My husband wanted to surprise me with a birthday/anniversary retreat. He hit the jackpot! We will be back; this is now part of our family tradition. —JMA 10/12
We were just stunned by the lovliness of the grounds and the cottage. The hosts obviously have put much thought and work into making this the perfect retreat. As we were driving out for dinner on the last night, we saw four deer in the yard. The quiet and peacefulness of this beautiful place is something we could quickly become accustomed to and prefer. We wished we could have stayed longer. —SM 11/12
We wish we had known about the cottage when we first came down for UVa orientation in the Summer of 2009. It is a beautiful retreat and so close to the school and everything in town. We really enjoyed ourselves this weekend. —SI 11/12
What a quiet and relaxing getaway! The cottage was perfect in every way, with accommodations that would surpass any 5-star hotel! Oh, and the coffee cake...my husband devoured most of it on the second night..."would not want it to go to waste," he said. Of course, I was saving it for breakfast. We will remember Cedar Hill fondly and look forward to another trip just to stay at the cottage. —LGF 12/12
(My husband) and I feel so fortunate to have found you here at Cedar Hill. I was disappointed that the Boar's Head was totally booked until finding your wonderful cottage at Cedar Hill. We hope to be back over and over. Very comfortable, and you provided for our every need. In Charlottesville, we have found our favorite restaurant, Duner's, and our favorite accommodation, Cedar Hill. P.S., we love the coffee cake, just like all the others before us. —EB 04/13
Your office was wonderful! We so enjoyed our get away. The rough part was leaving yesterday. We will be back! Thank you for making our get away better then perfect! —AW 05/13
