The hospitality was lovely. The hostess is sweet and friendly and also gives plenty of space for privacy. Perfect. The room was really beautiful and comfortable, perfectly clean. The bedding was exquisite. We really loved staying here. Could use Cable channel list. I love your service - Wilmington could use one. —JG 03/11
The hostess was great. Very comfortable home, pleasant conversation, enjoyed the stay. My party had all three rooms which was great. All bedrooms and baths are on 2nd floor so had the whole floor to ourselves. The larger bedroom had a sitting area which was nice later in the night to unwind. Room/ bathrooms were very clean. The hostess changed the towels every day. We all like hot tea so, if the hostess was not going to be there in the morning when we came down for breakfast, she left the water on the stove on low so it was hot for us - very much appreciated. Convenient to walk to downtown, visitor center is downtown to find all the sites in the area to see. Would recommend staying at this home to anyone. —CA 06/12
The hospitality at Cope-Foster was amazing. This whole experience was like visiting an old friend, and I can't think of anything that would have made our trip better.
The hostess was wonderful! Her house was beautiful and filled with fine antiques. My room was very comfortable and the entire house was spotlessly clean. The Continental breakfast was the same quality that you would get at the Four Seasons which I commented on to the hostess. She had nice plates with fine linen napkins. The breakfast consisted of freshly baked ciabatta and scones, gourmet preserves, fresh fruit including my favorite - one special fresh fig from her garden, Greek yogurt, granola, orange juice and coffee. I enjoyed my stay and plan to stay there again.
I had a great time, excellent balance of chatting time with host and quiet time to self. The location, a few minute walk to the downtown mall and walking distance from Amtrak station, was great.
I recommend Cope Foster House. —JB 05/15
The hostess is a warm kind soul, a delight to be with. VERY clean and comfortable and Breakfast was divine. I would recommend to others. Our decision to proceed started with an informational call with Guesthouses "J". Because of her knowledge and professionalism we went with Guesthouses and then discovered Cope Foster and the hostess here. Great example of mutual supporting team work. —BK 05/15
Felt very welcome. Very comfortable. Were initially afraid we'd be too hot, and we were actually kind of cold but there were extra pillows and blankets. Host left all sorts of optional amenities around, such as a night light for the bathroom, hair dryer, Kleenex...very thoughtful. Breakfast was just what we needed. Yogurt, fresh fruit, bread and homemade muffins and biscuits--delightfully surprised. The coffee was delicious. Donut muffins and sweet potato biscuits with Virginia ham?! You really cannot go wrong here.
We loved staying at the Cope-Foster House. First of all, the location was great (three blocks from the downtown mall), and there is a parking spot and a parking permit, so we didn't have to waste time worrying about parking. The door is locked after dark but we had a key in case we stayed out later. Most of all, the hostess is one of the nicest people I've ever met--we really enjoyed talking to her, and she made us feel incredible welcome and comfortable in her home. It was really easy to make this reservation, and I found everyone to be really responsive. Thanks! —LG 05/16
